Mental Health Awareness Week – community
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme for 2025 is "Community"... so why does a good community matter?.....
Strong social connections and community support are essential for your mental health and wellbeing. Connecting to other humans is written in our DNA - primary instinct. Effective community - friends, neighbours, family, peers can provide support, encouragement, love and a sense of belonging that can help reduce stress and anxiety.
To build a good community: engage in local activities, say hi to your neighbours, engage in networking opportunities. Foster your friendships so they are meaningful to you.
Most importantly identify your own needs - so that you can better work out what resources work best for you.
