A Guide to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Finding Light in the Darker Months

As a counsellor, I know those shorter, darker days can bring more than just a chill - they can bring Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). It's a real, clinical form of recurrent depression, not just "the winter blues."

It happens when reduced sunlight throws off our internal chemistry, impacting mood (less serotonin) and sleep regulation (more melatonin).

Remember: This is temporary, and you have tools to manage it. If SAD is overwhelming your daily life, please reach out to a professional. You deserve to feel well.

Because finding out who you are isn’t a weakness - it’s a real strength.
